Fantastic singer songwriter Amy Bronson is back from school for the holidays and has a gig at the Slice tonight Bio: Albertan folk singer/guitar player Amy Bronson is a little bit different than the average prairie girl raised around cows and conservative politics. Amy is a versatile performer, having played at punk shows, church things, a little art gallery, Blueprint record shop in Lethbridge, bars, inside and outside festivals (like the South Country Fair and Lethbridge Roots and Blues festival), a health food store, at 5am in a little gym for a workout class, house shows, and drag shows.
After releasing a couple low-fi, basement recordings of her peculiar folk music, her first moderately well done, full-length album was recorded during the cold winter of 2008. The album titled, āIām allergic to this deodorant.ā, is a collection of songs about laundry, Alberta politics, the heart, and biology.
In the fall of 2008, Amy relocated to Guelph, Ontario where she ponders the differences between eastern vs. western Canada. She is currently playing a variety of shows in Guelph, Ontario and attending school.
In November 2009, Amy will be releasing a new three song EP.
Jesse and the Dandelions are also on the bill. www.myspace.com/jesseandthedandelions
