This is going to be an amazing show. The Mahones are Canada’s premiere Celtic-punk band. Shane McGowan formed this band after leaving the Pogues and apparently DJ Ray Gange used to roadie with the Clash and is the subject of  the movie Rude Boy.

The Mahones — http://www.themahones.net/ or http://www.themahones.net/

Led by Irish-Paddy Punk Pioneer/Singer/Guitarist and Songwriter Finny McConnell with Dominic "The Bomb' Whelan (Drums/Vocals), Kevan Williams (Bass/Vocals), Katie McConnell (Accordian/Vocals) and a revolving line-up of fantastic musicians, this Irish gang of rockers have played at many major concerts and festivals in Europe (Folkwoods, Huntenpop), Australia (National Celtic Festival) and North America (Guinness Fleadh, NYC, Molson Park Canada Day - Toronto, George St Festival - St. John, Newfoundland etc.). The Mahones have shared stages around the world alongside legends such as Shane MacGowan and The Popes, The Band, D.O.A., Against Me, The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Steve Earle, Sinead O'Connor, Flogging Molly, Spirit Of The West, The Dubliners, Christy Moore and even Van Morrison to name a few. More recently, Terry Woods and Phil Chevron of The Pogues joined The Mahones on stage for a tour of Central and East Coast Canada and Scuffy Wallace of The Dropkick Murphy's joined The Mahones onstage for two shows as our Tin Whistle player in Toronto and Montreal on the last DKM Canadian tour.
Recently, The Mahones have "HEADLINED" at The Strummercamp Festival with Billy Bragg (Manchester, England), The Festival Interceltique (Lorient, France- the biggest in Europe), Irlanda In Festa 09 Festival (Bolongna, Italy), Minneapolis Irish Fair (Minnesota, USA), Disneyland St. Patricks Day Festival (Paris, France), Potsdam Celtic Rock Festival (Potsdam, Germany), Big Irish Night Festival (Amsterdam, Holland), The Toronto Festival of Beer in Fort York (Toronto, Canada), Jena Celtic Festival (Jena, Germany), Koeinpop Festival (Horst, Holland), Stewart Park Festival (Perth, Canada), The National Celtic Festival (Portarlington, Australia), The Freemont Street St. Patrick’s Festival (Las Vegas, USA), Deerlyck Folk Festival (Deerlyck, Belguim), The Fergus Highland Games Festival (Fergus, Canada), Castle Festival (Soligen, Germany), Capital City Celtic Festival (Ottawa, Canada), Huntenpop Festival (Ulft, Holland), East Coast Festival (London, Canada), Celtic Transhumances Festival (Laas, France), Yonge St Festival (Toronto, Canada), The South Carolina Irish/Scottish Festival (Anderson, USA), City Festival (Lennestadt, Germany) and The Celtic Nights Festival (Vienna, Austria).
The Popes—http://www.thepopesofficialsite.com or http://www.myspace.com/thepopesmusic

Shane MacGowan formed The Popes to record his album 'The Snake' in 1994 after leaving The Pogues. From that original line up are Paul (Mad Dog) McGuinness, on vocals and guitars (Paul originally played with The Pogues, his first performance being live on the David Letterman show, plucked from the technical team at a moment's notice!).

After releasing 2 sell out singles - 'Are You Looking At Me' and 'Holloway Boulevard' on Scarlet Records - The Popes signed to Snapper Records and released their debut album 'HOLLOWAY BOULEVARD' with a 'never been done before' - (and I should imagine never again!!) one day - 6 venues - musical pub crawl along the Holloway Road in North London! 'Holloway Boulevard' received great reviews and the record-buying public took the band to their hearts - and their parties!  After recording another live album with Shane in New York on St Patrick’s Day (Across the Broad Atlantic), and extensive touring, Paul began writing material for the new album.

TommyFollowing the sad death of Popes banjo god Tommy McManamon at the end of 2006, Paul reformed THE POPES with a new line up of fantastic and experienced musicians; drummer WILL MORRISON (Here be Dragons, Lisa Knapp), guitarist/producer CHARLE HOSKINS (Lisa Knapp, Badly Mixed Bastards), LAURIE NORWOOD on bass, BEN GUNNERY on fiddle and FIACHRA SHANKS on banjo, mandolin, guitars and vocals.

‘The Popes' new album - ‘Outlaw Heaven’ will showcase some of their most exciting and brilliant material to date! and is due for release Feb/March 2009. With excitingly a long awaited tour that will include Uk, Ireland and USA.
‘Special Guests’ with Paul (Mad Dog) McGuinness, on the title track ‘Outlaw Heaven’ are no less than his old friends Shane MacGowan and Spider Stacy.  Shane also features with Paul on ‘Black is the Colour’ and
‘Don’t let the Bastards grind you down’, PLUS a special solo performance by Shane MacGowan on
‘The Loneliness of a Long Distance Drinker’.

 The Delinquints— http://www.myspace.com/delinquintsmusic or http://www.delinquints.ca/

It's been widely commented that the Toronto band DELINQUINTS have an appropriate name based on their sense of style and behaviour. One local pundit even remarked that the band looked like a grade school playground gang - however, under the Warriors-esque fashion lies a clever mix of early 1980s Southern California punk and the anthemic FM hard rock of the same era.

DELINQUINTS unique spin on their influences has allowed them to build a strong and diverse local fanbase, transcending the usual willing self ghettoization of Toronto punk bands. Friends in high places haven't hurt them either, though; in the last 18 months the band has had their music prominently featured on the extremely popular Canadian Showcase TV series KENNY vs. SPENNY, as well as opening for touring acts such as Anti Flag, S.N.F.U., The Casualties, The Business, Strike Anywhere and The Cancer Bats.

The band has just released their second EP, Live Your Life Like It's Stolen (available at all live appearances), a follow up to their debut, "Sin". They hope to see you at the bar before, during and after their next live appearance.

Ray Gange—http://www.myspace.com/raygange

Poet, Artist, Deadbeat, one-time punk rock royalty, former sex god and influencer of the minds of the young, now just another down at heel artist living in a dingy damp london garrett surviving on a diet of gruel and ratshit, at least i'm getting my carbs and proteins.
