Peter Gilligan brings the spirit of Tom Waits to the stage

E-mail Print PDF

Darryl Düus, Taylor Ackerman and Peter Gilligan at the Owl. Photo by Richard AmeryPeter Gilligan, a mainstay at the Lethbridge Folk Club, played a show at the Owl, Dec. 16 with Taylor Ackerman and Daryll Düus alternating on bass on lead guitar.

Düus and Ackerman played subdued solos, which set the laid back vibe for the room.

Gilligan growled a number of entertaining Tom Waits style songs for the audience who were enjoying the music.

Ackerman and Düus set the mood, playing  subdued in the background but keeping the beat going

But it was  the Peter Gilligan show, who was at his gravelly voiced, Tom Waits best.
