Erin Ross sings country on Mocha Cabana patio

E-mail Print PDF

It is perfect patio weather, so there wasn’t a better place to spend it on Aug. 5 than at the Mocha Cabana.

They have been having live music on their patioErin Ross singing on the patio. Photo by Richard Amery throughout the summer weather permitting.

I couldn’t resist checking out Calgary based folk/ country singer Erin Ross.

She has played Lethbridge many times, usually at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, but was entertaining diners with a mix of original and a few choice classic country covers and a couple more jazzy numbers including one called “The Sugar Rag.”

She displayed her lovely voice and nimble folky guitar picking for the chattering audience who nonetheless applauded politely after each number.

She played Waterton the night before and Fort Macleod  the afternoon before her Lethbridge show.

I enjoyed her voice and her original song “Josephine,” about her grandmother coming over to Canada as a mail order bride, which ended her first set.
