“Only one of us actually lives in Winnipeg now,” said guitarist/ vocalist Andrew Neufeld, just pulling into Calgary in the middle of the band’s latest tour with New York hardcore punk band Backtrack and Expire.

“I’m from Winnipeg originally, the other guitarist is from Vancouver and our bassist is from Minneapolis. We pretty much tour full time and we’re playing a lot overseas, so we’ll just meet for that,” he continued.

They play their first Lethbridge show, Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Studio 54 with New York hardcore/ punk band Backtrack and Expire. Their first Lethbridge show is in the middle of a short tour which began in Seattle last week and ends in Winnipeg in a week.

“We’re not the kind of band who likes barriers. We like small, packed rooms with the crowd going fucking insane, ” he said adding he doesn’t know what to expect from Lethbridge, never having been here before.

“We’re a hardcore punk rock band. We’ll be playing songs from all four of our albums and ripping it up,” he said.

So far, their Vancouver show at the Biltmore has been the favourite one of the tour, which has been mostly bars.

“We usually play all ages shows,” he said.

“Whether they are big venues or small, we approach all of the shows the same way,” he said.

They sound a lot like the Cancer Bats, however he said listeners should just listen to their music and make up their own minds.
“I’m not very good at coming up with adjectives to describe our music, so whenever somebody asks me that, I just tell them to listen to the music and come up with their own,” he said.

They released their fourth CD “Symptoms + Cures”  in 2010 and are getting ready to start writing for the next  album, before they tour southeast Asia and Australia in the Spring.

“We’re just getting our feet wet for that,” he said.
Tickets for the Nov. 20 show, which begins at 9 p.m., cost $20.
