Coal Creek Boys trimmed down to lean, mean trio

E-mail Print PDF

the Coal Creek Boys playing as a trio. Photo by Richard AmeryLethbridge country  band the Coal Creek Boys returned to a Lethbridge stage, March 9, this time as a lean, mean country trio.
Frontman Johnpaul Smith, bassist Dino Scavo and drummer Ryan Mildenberger played a three hour set t of songs from  their Cd  “Hard At It in Old Town” including my favourite “Mamma Please,” and “Snow,” one of the more  slower popular songs from it.
They also added a  couple newer songs including  “Red Dress,” and  a couple choice covers including “Copperhead Road” by Steve Earle and a Waylon Jennings song.
While they definitely pull the songs off as a trio, the extra instrumentation is missed.
