Antoine ‘Baby’ Harry rocks the blues at the Casino

E-mail Print PDF

The Lethbridge Casino had a  superb blues gig with Antoine “Baby” Harry, Jan. 9 who brought his rocking trio to town to Antoine ‘Baby’ Harry playing the blues. Photo by Richard Ameryplay some energetic blues rock, including a sweet Jimi Hendrix medley and some original music. Harry, singing an a crystal clear tenor voice reminiscent of Buddy Guy and Robert Cray, played his Flying V with taste and restraint, but cut loose with some sweet wah wah  drenched solos which were backed by some outstanding bass playing and some in the pocket drumming. The 25 some strong audience was a lot more exuberant then are usually found in the more restrained Casino lounge. Harry grinned ear to ear as he dedicated song after song to the more enthusiastic members of the crowd.
