The Deaner returns to rock Lethbridge with Nightseeker

E-mail Print PDF

There wasn’t as much debauchery at the Deaner and his his band Nightseeker's Aug. 28 show at Scores as there was a couple years ago when he brought his high octane metal band to town, but a decent sized crowd was still ready to give’r.

It didn’t stop a trimmed down Nightseeker from tearing up the place with bone crushing bass heavy, loud, rocking metal music with searing guitar solos.

The guitarist/ vocalist was in a Christmas  type of mood as he added a few bars of  “Carol of the Bells” to several of the songs.

This time they only had one guitarist (they had two last timeThe Deaner and Nightseeker. Photo by Richard amery) BarbarIAN and drummer Poof the Magic Drummer and the Deaner on bass and singing most of the lead vocals.

Though this time, unlike their last show, BarbarIAN sang the high notes of covers of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Dio.

Most of the set was original material including a couple songs from the Deaner's FUBAR movies, brand new songs like “God Gave Rock and Roll To Me” and straight out fun songs like “I Love Getting Drunk.”

The enthusiastic audience wouldn’t let the band leave the stage until well past midnight, long after they finished “all of the songs we officially know.
”

So the Deaner passed the torch over to BarBarIAN who lead the band through a long encore of a variety of metal ranging from Van Halen to Iron Maiden
.

Riot City from Calgary and local metal band  Space Wolves opened the show.
