The Lethbridge Folk Club has moved their concerts to the Lethbridge College Cave so I was pleased to catch the end of the Erin Ross Trio's set, Nov. 15.
The room had a nice, intimate feel thanks to comfortable couches in front of the stage and tables set at the back of the room where people could munch on popcorn with their beer.
Erin Ross shone as always especially backed by her trio Kalle Kinjo and Jon may who added a pleasant backdrop for her impressive fingerpicking.
She strummed a Gibson acoustic guitar as well as a Gibson ES-335 as she sang a variety of originals as well as blues classics which she played in between chatting engagingly with the audience about things including how much she love blues musicians’ name s like Memphis Minnie, Skip James“ and all the Kings.”
She sang a couple of excellent songs about fishing including one of her own as well as an older song called “Grease and Gasoline”about what she loves about men who can fix cars.
