“ We’re hosting the open mic so we’ll get to meet old friends. It’s  an opportunity to share the stage with talented musicians,” said Isobel Trigger lead singer Felicity Harding.

“It’s nice to play an open mic. Rather than just playing our songs, it's really fun to play with a lot of other people,” she continued.
“ We just like to play,” she added.

They are busy playing concerts and making demos of new songs.
“We’re getting ready for a bunch of summer festivals before Aug. 25,” enthused Harding, adding they are preparing music for a new CD.
“ We’ve definitely been doing a lot of writing,” she said.

“ We’ve been doing a lot of pre-production. We’re really excited about it,” she continued adding while they are still a synth -pop band, they have changed their sound slightly.

“ The new songs have more groove to them,” she said.
“It’s still synth rock but we’re letting the groove take over because we want people to move to the music,” she continued.
“ There’s also more riffery which is fun for everyone,” she continued.

“ Writing is a lot more collaborative now,” she continued adding playing in guitarist Brett Faulkner’s jam space has allowed the band to experiment and take their time with making new songs.

Bassist Ryan Salmond and drummer Ariel Tseng complete the band’s line up.

“ But we really want to do is play the new music in front of people,” she said, adding the songs really take shape when played live.
The new music will go on a new full length album.
“ Fingers crossed, it will be done early next year,” she said.
There is no cover for the show, which begins at 9 p.m., Aug. 25.
