Kitchener -Waterloo based indie rock/ pop band  Royal Streets are slowly making their way to Lethbridge for a Feb. 3 show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge.Royal Streets come to Lethbridge, Feb. 3. Photo submitted
They are supporting their new single “ Champagne Floats,” the first track off their upcoming CD which features the vocals of keyboardist Julia Bannard.
“She does everything for us,” he said.

The rest of the band includes Dan Hosh, Allan Friolet, Joe Dowding, M Demsey and S Keating.

“The tour is off to a good start,” said lead guitarist Eric Stirtzinger, observing the Nipigon Bridge has been damaged, so they hope they will be able to make it out west.
“We love to tour out west, but we’ve never played Lethbridge before,” he continued.
They took their time on the new CD, spending eight months  going in and out of the studio to record, then taking parts home to listen to.

“We took 10 days to do the last one. On this one we had eight months. So we could go in a record and then leave them to cool, then later on we could come back and visit them again and peel back the layers. It gave us a queer kind of freedom. It’s nice to live with the songs for  a while,” he said, adding they are looking forward to their first Lethbridge visit.

“This will be a full fledged show with lots of energy,” he said, adding they will be playing a few new songs as well.
“ We’re pretty excited about it,” he said.
He said while the album is full of lush orchestration, the live show on this tour is substantially stripped down.
“We’re looking forward to it,” he said.
The Royal Streets play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. Admission is by donation
