I only caught the last couple songs of Calgary country/ roots musician Scott MacLeod at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, April 29.
He had an excellent band backing his big baritone including Danny Dyck play
ing pedal steel and Taylor Ackerman adding guitar while Scotty Montgomery held down the bottom end on bass.
I only caught the tail end of an original and an outstanding version of John Prine’s “Spanish Pipe Dream.”
