Jason Collett and Zeus bring R and B groove to Geomatic Attic

E-mail Print PDF

Saturday nights can be tough when there are three great shows competing with my blues show on CKXU.Jason Collett and Zeus at the Geomatic Attic, April 30. Photo by Richard Amery
I almost forgot about Jason Collett’s show at the Geomatic Attic, April 30 But caught the last few songs.

He had a good sized audience smiling and dancing in their seat by playing a lot of groove laden pop and R and B music.

His backing band, fellow Torontonians Zeus were exceptional adding funky breaks, tasteful  guitar solos and  sweet vocal harmonies.

Collett told a story about writing a song about getting kicked out of his Grade 9 dance because he and his date were smoking a super-joint which caught his ’80s style velour shirt on fire.

The show was all about having a whole lot of soul and emotion as the audience hung in every word.

He ended the set  playing an intimate acoustic song on his own.
