Kamloops rock band the Decoys return to Lethbridge  to play the Slice, May 18 as they return from their first tour out to Ontario.
They are in the middle of a six week tour in support of their long awaited new CD “ In Our Blood,” which was released April 15.

“So far so good,”  said guitarist/ vocalist Matt Stanley somewhere between Sault Ste Marie and Thunder Bay, heading home to Kamloops on the tour, which brings them to Lethbridge May 18 at the Slice.

“We’ve got a lot of good feedback and sold a lot of merch on this tour,” he continued adding  he is pleased the CD is finally out.

“It’s the result of  five years of work. We put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into  it and our vision has finally come to fruition. It’s a good representation of where we’re at, he added.

Drummer Sean Poissant and bassist Brendan Methot complete the trio.
While they have worked with former Prism lead singer Henry Smalls in the past, they built their own studio and worked at the CD at their own pace.
They also trimmed down to a trio.
“ Last time we were in Lethbridge, but this time it’s the three of us and it feels right,” he said.
“When it’s the three of us, it’s when the band is at our best, “ he continued.

“We created a home studio which freed us up to work at our own pace,” he said.
“We kept everything in house. We didn’t have to worry about time or money. We produced it ourselves, but we used the same engineer, Chris Rustin,” he said.

“We definitely took a lot more time,” he said.
“The songs have been recorded and mastered for about a year, so it is nice that is out,” he said.

He noted the band plays a lot around B.C, but they don’t often do longer tours like the current tour.

“We’re playing around B.C. almost every weekend,” he said adding his band mates have  day jobs they go back to when the band isn’t on the road.

He is excited to wind down the tour in Lethbridge.
“We hope people will connect with the songs. We want to bring them into our world. We interact with people and  have fun.We have new songs  which we reshape as we play them, so we hope everyone enjoys  themselves,” he said.
The Decoys play the Slice at 9:30 p.m.
