Hurtin’ play plenty of hurting country for PBR bull riding weekend

PBR bull riding took over the Enmax Centre, so country music was the order  of the weekend.

There was a line up outside Coyote Joes for the second show from country musician Julian Austin on Saturday, March 4, so I went to the Slice to check out some local country talent- Hurtin’.

Vocalist/ Guitarist Shael Pezderic, bassist/vocalist Keenan Pezderic, drummer Dustin Gergel and steel guitarist Danny Dyck always put on a good show. There was plenty of twang, sighing steel guitar and a lot of energy.

They were in a ’70s and ’80s country mood, playing “9 to 5“ pretty much as soon as I arrived. They also added some George Strait, classic country like “White line Fever, ” the Band’s “ The Night they Drove old Dixie Down” which showed off their vocal harmonies.
The Pezderic  brothers took turn singing lead vocals and harmonies.

I enjoyed a Marty Stuart song called “Tempted” as well as “Driving My Life Away.”
