I only caught the tail end of Edmonton musician Alex Vissia aka Vissa’s outstanding long weekend show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Saturday, Oct. 7.
But I heard enough to be suitably impressed by her gorgeous, bluesy R and B tinged voice which reminded me of Moose Jaw’s Megan Nash, but with a touch more alternative rock along the lines of the Pixies and a touch of ’50s and ’60s pop music.
She mostly focussed on music from her new CD “Place Holder.” She ended her first set with a sultry cover of Neil Young’s “Walk On.”
