Kent McAlister returns for Windy City Opry

E-mail Print PDF

I missed most of the October edition of the Windy City Opry on Wednesday, Oct. 11, because it starts at 8 p.n. on the dot and ends early. So I completely missed Saskatoon songwriter Zachary Lucky’s set and most of  Calgary songwriter Kent McAlister.

McAlister finished an entertaining set with his big, rumbling baritone voice and introduced his band which included Jay Bowcott playing lead guitar.

They ended their set with an apt song called “That’s No Way To Say Goodbye,” but were called back for an encore they were not expecting and improvised a ’50s/’60s pop influenced jam.
