Rock out the last week of December with live music

 The next night the Owl features Winnipeg musician Mayor Matt Allen performing at 9 p.m., Dec. 28 while the Slice has their last open mic of the year on Dec., 28 as well.


On the weekend , rock band Suite 33 play Casino Lethbridge, Dec. 29 and 30.
 Honker’s  Pub celebrates New Year’s early with a big show featuring Aaron Landry, Frankie G, and Andy Mac.
 

Local roots duo the Crooked Creek Warblers return to the Slice, Dec. 29.

If you love Elvis Presley, Elvis impersonator Robin Kelly returns to HBs Bowling for and Elvis Christmas. Tickets are $15.

 Local funk rock trio Adequate play a free show at Average Joes, Dec. 29. Uncovered are also on the bill.

The fun begins at 9 p.m.
 

And ’tis the season for people to return home to visit friends, family and fans.
 One of my favourite singers, Mwansa Mwansa, returns home from Toronto to play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Dec. 29.

She will be joined by  guitarist James Oldenburg, bassist Paul Holden, drummer Brad Brouwer, keyboardist Jordan Nicholas Kane and special guests. The show is pay what you can.
 

There are three big gigs on Saturday. Paul Kype host an open mic at Honker’s Pub, Suite 33 is at the Casino and MomBod, Fox Eyes and Wares will be rocking the Owl Acoustic Lounge with ’90s style alternative rock.
