Joel Stretch played to a full house at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Saturday, Oct.17.
As all musicians do at the Owl, Stretch played inside a plexiglass box. Most of his fans sat masked and were rapt in attention. Some of them were singing along with their favourite older numbers.
Stretch strummed his acoustic guitar throughout a heartfelt set that included songs from his bands the Utilities and Starpainter as well as some brand new solo material.
They all fell into the folk, roots/ country vein.
Some of the stand outs were The Utilities’ “Hang Dog” and “Gasoline.”
He would up his show with a couple of new Starpainter songs including “Grocery Store, which had more of a rock and roll sound.
