Jazz, blues and punk and much more this week

What’s going down in this town this week?

 A little something for everyone.

 As usual,  it is jazz night at Watertower on Wednesday  from 6-8 p.m.

 

Jazz jams with HBO 3 return to the Owl Acoustic lounge on Wednesday as well.

Also tonight, Gabe Thaine hosts a blues jam at the Slice. Sign up is 7:30 p.m.

 There are plenty of open mics as usual.

 

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge’s open mic is tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 8.

 The Slice’s regular open mic is on Thursday.

And Bridgette Yarwood band hosting Honkers Pub’s open mic on Friday, Feb. 11.

 

 Instead of the Saturday afternoon jam,  Dueling Pianos with Cal Toth and  Anna McBryan returns to Honker’s Pub, Feb. 12. There is a $10 cover  for the show, which begins at 7 p.m.

 Country rock band Steel Cut were supposed to return to Casino Lethbridge Feb. 11 and 12 , but had to cancel due to a family emergency according to their Facebook Page. Lawless Murphy will be performing instead.

 Shows are to be announced at the Owl Acoustic lounge,  this weekend, but check out the I Heart Local market at 6 p.m., Feb. 11.

 And get ready to rock at the Slice this weekend. 

 

Local alternative rock band 21st Avenue returns to the Slice stage Friday, Feb. 11. There is a $10 cover.

 

Saturday, Feb. 12  features an outstanding local punk rock show with Medicine Hat’s Western Death, the Hockey Moms, On My Side and Switched Off. Admission is $15. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

 

Outside of town in Fort Macleod, the South Country Fair’s “A Grasslands  Manuscript with Barney Bentall, Richard Inmann, Shaela Miller and John  Wort Hannam and many more, is sold out.

 

For comedy, Hollywood comedian and actor Peter Sers visits Lethbridge, Feb. 11 and 12. He has appeared on shows like  MTV’s Homewrecker and Law and Order: Los Angeles.

 

 With the Covid of it all, the schedule  is subject to change.
