Frontman Mike McDonald is pleased by the response to their new album “Still Got the Jacket,” which was released in November.

“ Nobody’s said anything bad about it to my face, so I guess it’s been well received,” chuckled Jr. Gone Wild frontman Mike McDonald.

“People seem to be digging it,” he continued.

They were last in Lethbridge in October just as they were releasing the new album.

“Our older fans really respond to “Old and Ugly’ and ‘Girl In the Crowd,’ which we released as a single,” McDonald said, getting ready for a show in Red Deer.

They played Wayne on March 8, Calgary on March 10, Twin Butte then wind up their tour in Lethbridge, March 12.

“ Crowds have been coming out for it.”

They are in the middle of a quick Alberta tour which ends in Lethbridge on Saturday.

“We’ll have all the kinks ironed out by then,” McDonald said.

They are starting to prepare to tour again in a post-Covid world.

“ We haven’t done a drive across Canada tour in about 20 years. We’re going back to Ontario and Quebec  in April and we haven’t been there in a couple of years,” he said.

They are also going to to B.C. in July.

He is enjoying playing the new album.

“ I enjoy playing the whole thing, though because people are responding to “Old and Ugly’ and ‘Girl in the Crowd’ I enjoy laying them,” he said.

“ It’s great to play ‘Fly At Night’ , though we’re always reminding people that our cover isn’t the Rush song, it’s Chilliwack. So we have to talk about the difference between eastern Canadian  and western Canadian rock and roll,” he chuckled.

They are looking forward to returning to Lethbridge.

“We’ll be playing a nice balance of old songs and new songs,” he said.

“ We’ll have CDs and T-Shirts, but unfortunately our vinyl got delayed by another month,” McDonald said.

Jr. Gone Wild and local country band Badlands play the Slice at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20.
