It was great to be away for a week, but it’s good to be back because the fun doesn’t stop in Lethbridge.

 There is something for everyone this week happening  from metal to blues and a lot more.

 The week begins with Luke James Bruce hosting the open mic at Mojos Pub, on Monday, Nov. 14.

 

 The Slice has their usual busy week beginning with ’60s influenced folk rock musician John Hewitt, who hits the stage, Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 9 p.m.

 Scott Davidson and Friends bring back mid week music to the Slice stage on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

 And Fawns hosts a Queer open mic at the Slice on Thursday.

 

Down the street Samantha Martin and Delta Sugar plus special guest Steve Marriner play the Southminster United  Church for a Geomatic Attic and Lethbridge Jazz  and Blues Festival co-presentation.  The show begins at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.Tickets are $45 for adults, $25 for students.

 

Friday night is all about metal as The Slice features Crown the Jester on Friday, Nov. 18 and features Saskatoon metal band Despite the Reverence and SI on Saturday.

Tyrants of Chaos rock the Place down the street on Friday, Nov. 18 with the CD release party for their latest CD“ Relentless Thirst For Power.” Calgary progressive metal band Osyron open the show at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door, $15 in advance.

 

Get your mind off  the albino brain chiggers ( ie snow)  covering the ground by getting into a surfing mindset with local surf band the Atomicos plus Foster Dollis at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Friday, Nov. 18.

 The Owl stays in a more acoustic mode on Saturday with Wendy Colby, Kevin Giron, Eric Bret West and Tyson Ray Borsboom. Admission to both shows is by donation.

If you missed Good Time Charlie’s opening set for Metallica tribute Damage Incorporated on Thursday, Nov. 10, catch Good Time Charlie at Honkers Pub, Friday, Nov. 18. There is no cover for their show, which begins at 7 p.m.

The Trippy Hippys return to the Honkers stage to host the open mic on Saturday. beginning at 5 p.m.

 

Relive the ’90s at Casino Lethbridge this weekend where Uncovered will be holding court, playing all your favourites at 8 p.m Friday and Saturday.

The Lethbridge Sympohony Orchestra has a busy week at the Southminster United Church beginning Monday, Nov. 21 with Triple play. The concert features the Symphony and Opus 3 ( Airdrie Ignas, violin; Christine Bootland, cello; John-Paul Ksiazek, piano) performing Schultz - The Path to Grace (7'); Beethoven - Triple Concerto (35') and Brahms - Symphony No. 3 (35').

 The music begins at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $25-$80. Also next week the Symphony features Kids Choir, Nov. 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. each night.

 

For comedy, Saskatchewan raised, Calgary based comedian Cory Mack returns to host So You Think You Can Comic at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Impromptu’s drunk improv returns to Good Times on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.

 Local favourite Faris Hytiaa returns to the Good Times stage on Friday, Nov. 18.

 And Marito Lopez returns to the Good Times Stage, Saturday, Nov. 19 for one show at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.

 At the University of Lethbridge, Theatre Xtra presents and apt three day run of Alex Dobb’s “ It Comes in Threes, Nov. 17-19. It is about three sisters coping with the the loss of their eldest sister and her two daughters in individual ways. Saturday night is sold out, but there are tickets available for Thursday and Friday. Tickets are $13 adults,  $12 for seniors and alumni, $8 for students and free for U of L students. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

 

 Next week, get ready to dig out that dictionary, think and laugh with Cape Breton born comedian Ron James, who returns to Lethbridge with his Back Where I Belong tour at the Yates Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 22 and 23. Tickets are $77 for the show, that begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. Look for an interview on L.A. Beat later this week.
