Alec Arms bring the joy and the noise to AES fundraiser

I only caught a couple of shows last week.

I caught the and of the University of Lethbridge Audio Engineer Society (AES) annual fundraiser at the owl Acoustic lounge, Saturday, Feb. 11.

I just missed lady Grimes who I was looking forward to seeing. But I was in time to catch local progressive  rock/ emo trio Alec Arms.

I’ve never seen anybody  look  so happy to be playing traditionally sad and angry emo/ screamo music as this local trio.

They played a solid set full of noisy angst ridden vocals, groovy bass, tempo changes and loud guitar riffs and interspersed with a little bit of spoken word.

All three looked completely blissed out and just glad to be part of the show, let alone headlining it.

They played their usual intense set and were always as fun to watch as usual.
