Danica Sommer debuts the Alanis Project

E-mail Print PDF

Danica Sommer brought back Slice of the ’90s, Dec. 23 by debuting her  Alanis Morissette tribute The Alanis Project at the Slice for an audience eager to experience the ’90s.

Her hot band  including drummer Isaac Neufeld, guitarist Austin Phillips, bassist Keely Evanoff, and guitarist Dayton Jans played  Morissette’s break through album “ Jagged Little Pill” from start to finish and pretty much note perfect.

Sommer copied Morissette’s cat caught in a garburator squawk almost perfectly, especially on the big hits  like “You Oughta Know,” and “Ironic.”

She  dressed in her favourite Morissette style grunge era. clothes and even donned a long black wig for the show, looking as much as Morissette as possible.

I missed opening sets from Black Arrow and Pretty on the Inside.
