Canadian country music artist Amy Nelson is blazing trails at home and abroad as a vibrant singer, songwriter, and musician.

She will be kicking off 2022 with the release of her brand new single on January 7th titled ’Trippin’, written by Madeline Merlo, Patricia Conroy, David “ Dwave" Thomson, Tina Gemza and produced by award-winning producer, Jeff Dalziel. She is also set to perform at AmericanaFest UK in January 2022.

Good Intentions, her third and most recent album, is infused with Amy’s incandescent vocals, magnetic melodies, and feisty lyrics that echo her on-stage and off-stage personality. The album was voted the #2 Best Album in Saskatchewan in all genres for 2019. “Hey Love,” Amy’s first single from the album written by multi-award-winning songwriter Jeff Cohen (Sugarland, The Band Perry, Big & Rich), is available for stream or download and has climbed to #6 on Australian country music charts.

The album also includes a bonus-track remake of “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” featuring fellow Canadian country artist Brad Johner. The music video, starring guest “pirates” and former Saskatchewan Roughriders Bob Poley and Roger Aldag, made its debut on Mosaic Stadium’s massive SaskTel MaxTron during the team’s home playoff game in 2018.

Her career as a Canadian musician has been highly recognized throughout the years. In 2019, she won 620 CKRM’s Proudly Saskatchewan Showcase competition, a staple for artists to be discovered in Saskatchewan for over 40 years. Previous winners include Jess Moskaluke, Tenille Arts and Brad Johner. In April 2019 Amy was recognized from the floor of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly for her intercontinental musical successes. She also was included in a 2018 JUNO Awards video featuring FACTOR-funded Canadian artists who have gained popularity abroad. Amy has collected 40 Saskatchewan Country Music Award nominations with a 2018 win for Entertainer of the Year. While serving on the SaskMusic board of directors from 2011 to 2018, she was instrumental in advancing the province’s music industry.

Empowering the next generation of artists is a driving force for Amy, as seen through her former work as a high school music teacher and later as she opened her own singing school for kids. Since Amy launched Sing Like a STAR in 2011, this business she created and oversees has encouraged more than 3,000 Saskatchewan children to grow in confidence and follow their dreams.

Amy has performed at the Calgary Stampede, Canadian Music Week, Canadian Country Music Awards, AmericanaFest, BreakOut West, JunoFest and Australian Music Week, Groundwater Country Music Festival, and Gympie Music Muster in Australia.
