Celebrate Halloween for four straight days of Hellacious fun this week.

Even though Halloween is on a Sunday this year, everybody is getting into the spirit this week, but the fun really begins on Tuesday.

 

 Makiisma will be featured in an episode of Hoku series Rise UP about the effect of Covid on touring musicians.

The filming is at the Slice on Tuesday, Oct. 26.

 

 Makiisma will be joined by Calgary singer songwriter Kyley Styles supporting his album  ‘Creating my Colours,’ Edmonton rap rock band Revolution Engine, Mexican hard rock band the B34st, Vancouver musician Tim Steinruck and Edmonton heavy rock band Sun of the Moon. Tickets are available online for $16.93. The show is from 8-11:30 p.m.

 Good Times’ Comedy open mic is Tuesday. Brittany Lyseng returns to Good Times, Oct. 29 and Oct. 30.

 As usual there is a lot happening at the Owl Acoustic Lounge.

 Their usual weekly open mic is on Tuesday.

 

 Because it is the last week of the month, the Owl’s monthly poetry open mic is Wednesday, Oct. 27.

 The next night, the Owl Acoustic Lounge turns up the volume with Edmonton Psychedelic noise punk band  the Dead Fibres, Vancouver alternative rock band Brass who have a new single “Winning Hand” and local alternative rock duo Cope. Admission is by donation.

The Slice’s usual weekly open mic is on Thursday as is Good Times’ weekly comedy open mic.

 

 There are Halloween parties and then some this week. 

Unfortunately Stage Fright: the Def Leppard Experience and local Volbeat Tribute Rebel Angels’ show at Club Lime has been cancelled, but there is a lot going on elsewhere.

Jolene Draper and the Inquisitive few will be front and centre for Halloween weekend.

 They host Honkers Pub’s Saturday afternoon pre-Halloween jam and play  a Halloween show on Sunday, Oct. 31 at the Slice..

 Klimmer and friends host a pre-pre halloween jam at Honkers Pub on Friday, Oct. 29.

Uncovered return to Pop’s Pub South for their usual Halloween show, Oct. 30.

 

 It doesn’t get more Halloween than the Misfits, so local Misfits tribute 138 haunt the Owl Acoustic Lounge stage with Biloxi Parish, Oct. 31.

Adequate bring the funk for a Pre Halloween party at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Oct. 30.

 

Local favourites the Chevelles return to a familiar haut for Halloween — The Place in the old Average Joes building.

 Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. 

 There is even a  Halloween children’s show at the Owl Acoustic Lounge , Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. with  the band formerly known ad Karen, Lewis and Pam (Ashley Thomson, Jillian Bracken and Gabe Thaine) who play the Halloween Hullabaloo.

 Admission is by donation, which  will be given to the Prairie Pitbull Rescue.

 

 If you love the blues, don’t miss the return of bluesman Doc MacLean and Paul Kype and Texas Flood to the Slice on Friday, Oct. 29.

Down the street, Up and coming singer songwriter Bailey Kate is having a CD release party for her new CD Within/Without at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Friday, Oct. 29.

 Moh'kinstsís Treaty 7 singer songwriter Wyatt C Louis and Max Hopkins with his band  Max and the Minimums will be sharing the stage. Admission is by donation to the show, which begins at 9 p.m.

 

Bridgette Yarwood is making up for lost time during the pandemic.

 She will be performing at Bread, Milk and Honey with her guitarist Mel Gaydos on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. There is no cover charge for the show.

Local indie rock band the Waterfront will be rocking the Canadian Brewhouse on Saturday, Oct. 30. Tickets are $10 including a drink.

The Plaid Ramblers will be playing your favourites at Mojos Pub, Oct. 30 as well.

 Lawless Murphy rocks Casino Lethbridge Friday and Saturday.
