Lethbridge psychobilly/ punk trio the Phantom Creeps are looking forwarding to kicking off a busy new year  by opening for the Dudes.
“It’s pretty exciting,” said drummer Dean Wilson.

“ It will be a great gig for them and us too. We’ll warm you up and they’ll knock you down,” Wilson enthused.

 The Phantom Creeps  just inked a new record deal with  San Antonio record company Psycho a Go Go.

“They’ve been really good to us. They’ve been helping us with distribution and publicity,” he enthused adding they will help book a  tour of the United States, which  Wilson noted the band will start planning first thing in the new year.

“ But we need to do Canada first,” he noted.

 The Phantom Creeps released their second CD this year “Hellbilly Rebel Fire,” featuring guitarist Jon Vornbrock, who also added a “little baby Creep” to the fold this year  — his brand new baby daughter Madilyn.

“Jon and his girlfriend Tara had their first baby. So that’s been a  highlight for us,” he said adding  that is why the band has been taking it easy touring wise other than doing a few shows in Edmonton and Calgary.

They are looking forward  to a possible western Canadian tour with  classic ’80s psychobilly band the Phantom Rockers, who are currently on tour with the Reverent Horton Heat and the Brains.

“They’re legends from the ’80s,” he said.

“Next year is going to be a big year for us. Like most musicians, we always want to be playing,” he said.
Advance tickets for their New Year’s Eve show at the Stone cost $25. The show begins at 9 p.m.
