Vancouver indie pop/ folk musician Leah Abramson picked up a cold on the way to her May 11 show in Lethbridge at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, but held it together for her set.

She was backed by a crack keyboard player who made her songs sing, adding numerous different textures to her sweet lyrics. She stood in place strumming her guitar while her band held everything together while getting lost in the music.

She played much of her new CD including  the outstanding “ Jack of Diamonds,” which came early in the set.

Their whole set was very laid back featuring  excellent vocals and superb keyboards.

The organ was a highlight of the show as was “Lose Lose,” one of the more pop inspired highlights of her latest CD.

Then ended with a more upbeat number, “Skull and Crossbones,” which was also a highlight of the CD. “Summertime” was another highlight.
