Street Wheelers and flood relief this week

 The 1010 Pub always turns their parking lot into a beer gardens  for Street Wheelers. This week, classic rock band Who’s Yer Daddy will be playing, July 12 while local country duo Tom and Curt will be playing on Saturday, July 13.
Backstreet South brings in local classic rock band Fast Times, July 12. Backstreet features a Metallica tribute band Damage Inc. , July 13. There is a $10 cover for that show.


 Classic rock band Driving While Blind was to be hosting the open mic at Honker’s Pub, July 12, but unfortunately it has been cancelled.
 Driving While Blind will be performing one of two big fundraisers this week.


On July 13, 13 bands will rock all day and all night long for the Salvation Army to benefit victims of the floods a few weeks ago at  the Smokehouse Bar and Grill (1104 Mayor Magrath Drive).

Things kick off at noon with 13 bands beginning with Driving With Blind, followed by classic rock band Undefined, metal/ punk band Fox Eyes and  pianist/ poet Jessie Tollestrup.

 Also performing will be metal band Death Pledge, Young Medicine, Swanson Hawk, Rawk Fist, ’90s cover band Temple City, pop punk band 24/7,  Flying Squirrels Delivery, Bruce Roome and company plus Suite 33 winding things up.

 The other fundraiser is for Chris Lipinski and Courtney Rode, who lost their house in a fire while the floods were hitting High River and Calgary. So far Lustre Creame and Planet Telex have been confirmed to play.
 The informal fundraiser for the young couple takes place at the Slice, July 10.

 


Other highlights this week include Bridgette Yarwood at Ric’s Grill, July 10, Cosmic Charley and Fox Eyes at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, July 12, Rancho Deluxe at the Slice, July 12 and Riviera Paradise at the Mocha Cabana on Friday and Saturday, they are also bringing ins B.C. based pop/ folk singer Pauline Kyllonen for a special show, July 11. She released her debut EP in 2008.
