Toronto based country duo Autumn Hill  are hard at work on the follow up to their Juno award nominated 2013 debut  CD “ Favourite Mistake.”

Things have been happening quickly since then. They recorded a song “Karolina” with Jann Arden and were nominated for CCMA Duo of the Year and received a Juno nod for  Breakthrough Group of the Year for their debut. Now they are busily writing the follow-up.
“Mike (Robins)  is from Toronto and I’m from Calgary. We’ve been here three years and it’s gone by so fast,” said  Autumn Hill lead singer Tareya Green.

“ I do miss Alberta though,” she continued.
 They  are coming back to Alberta and to Lethbridge, Nov. 4 to play Average Joes with Ottawa's Kira Isabella, whose single “Quarterback” has been making some waves this year.

“ We’ve played a couple of shows with her. I’m excited to be touring with another girl. Usually it’s me in a van full of guys,” said Green, who along with bandmate Mike Robins, who will be sharing the back up band with Isabella.

“ I don’t think we’ve ever played a show in Lethbridge, though I know we’ve done some radio there,” she said.
“ We’ve be playing songs from ‘My Favourite Mistake’ and we’re making a new record, so we’ll be playing some new songs. It will be a high energy, fun show,” she described.

 They enjoyed working with Jann Arden on “Karolina.”
“ I don’t know how it happened. It was a matter of our people taking to her people and the next thing we know we get to sing with Jann Arden,” she enthused.

“ I almost fell out of my chair when I got the call,” she said.
“She's the funniest person I’ve ever met. She’s hilarious.”

They didn’t get to actually meet her during the recording of the song as they recorded their part in a different studio in Toronto though she has performed with  the duo a couple of times since.

“ I thought we were only going to sing harmonies,  she split the lines 50 50. She’s a very warm and generous woman,” she said.
 They weren’t expecting to be nominated for a Juno for their first album.

“We never thought that would have happened. It was amazing,”she said adding while there is a little pressure  in writing songs for the follow up, they are taking their time in Nashville co-writing new material for the next album.

“ There's some pressure. But I’m just so excited about the process, We’re having a little more fun with it this time. We’ve  got over 50 songs and we want to narrow them down to 12 or 14 songs  because we want to find the best. We have a huge folder of songs,” she said.

“I’ve always been a fan of melody and a big chorus so those are the songs I fall in love with,” she said.
“And we’ve put so much energy into them that I can’t wait to debut them,” she said.
