Lots of laughter for Thanksgiving week

There is a lot to be thankful for this week for Thanksgiving weekend. Surprise, surprise, it is another busy week for entertainment  and today, when everybody needs a laugh more than ever, comedy is on the agenda throughout the week.

rate Alexander Keiths’ birthday. Tickets including a lobster dinner were $39.99. But if you just want to have a Keiths or other beverage, there is a $10 cover with entry is at 7 p.m.

 

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge has their weekly open mic tonight, Tuesday,  Oct. 5.  Gabe Thaine hosts a last minute jam at the Slice tonight at 7 p.m.

And Good Times hosts their usual weekly comedy open mic tonight at 8 p.m..

 

The Owl  Acoustic Lounge has their monthly comedy open mic on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

 

Speaking of comedy The Canadian Brewhouse has  a new comedy open mic on Thursday nights.

Good Times brings back Brian Stollery, Friday and Saturday. Tickets are  $15 for the shows, which begin at 8 p.m. each night.

 And Drunk Improv returns to Didi’s Playhaus on Saturday, Oct. 8 featuring  Jay Whitehead, Erica Barr, Katie Fellger, Mark Ogle, Jonathan Kirsch and Jordyn Nixon plus accompanist Cole Olson. Tickets must be purchased in advance online https://www.theatreoutre.ca.


Jazz jams return to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Thursday, Oct. 7 with HBO 3.

 

 The Slice has their usual open mic on Thursday, Oct. 7 beginning around 8:30 p.m.

 The Mark Hall band host  Honkers Pub’s Friday night open mic.

 JDS (Danny Douglas, Jasmine Mitchell and Jackie French) host Honkers Pub’s Saturday afternoon open mic.

Covid 19 shutdowns last year delayed a lot of concerts and CD release parties.

The Steve Keenan Band released their fantastic new CD “ In My Hands”  almost exactly a year ago and finally get to have the CD release party at the Slice on Friday, Oct. 8 with special guest Paul Kype and Karen Romanchuk opening the show at 8 p.m. There is a $15 cover for the show.

 

Friday night will be a big night for rock as alternative rock band Fawns play the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Oct. 8 as well. they will be joined by Jonnor and Calgary’s Cold Water. Admission is by donation.

 

 Tom Price returns to Casino Lethbridge on the weekend to play a variety of music, Friday and Saturday.

 Bread, Milk and Honey are starting to feature live music . Tyson Ray Borsboom is on stage on Saturday, Oct. 9.

 If you like country and roots music, don’t miss Tin and The Toad’s return to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Saturday, Oct. 9. Badlands are also on the bill. Admission is by donation.

The Slice just announced Queen of the Worms will be playing on Saturday night with Facecut.
