Southern Comforts aka Paul and Jenn Kype added a top notch rhythm section to their show at the Slice, Saturday, April 16.

Drummer Brady Valgardson and bassist Shawn Worden added a loud back end to a set of popular hits and a few originals.

Jenn Kype took centre stage,  singing most of the lead vocals for a good sized audience.

She sang  a stirring version of Alanis Morrissete’s “Ironic” and snuck in one of her originals, though the rhythm section drowned her out for most of the set.

She sang beautifully. It was a rtreat to hear her again as I haven’t heard her singing for quite a while.

Paul Kype added  some hot solos and background  vocals and and a pretty duet of “Jackson” with his wife.

He stepped up for some Stevie Ray Vaughan too, playing his usual note perfect version of “Pride and Joy.”
