Family Day long weekend full of laughter, folk and rock and roll

Get ready to rock and laugh  for the Family Day long weekend.

 The Slice hosts a blues jam tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 14.

 Danica Sommer hosts the Slice‘s open mic on Wednesday, Feb. 15. If you think you‘re funny, then show it as So You Think you can Comic returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, Also on Wednesday.

 The Little Prince continues at the University of Lethbridge until Feb. 18.

 Drunk improv returns to Good Times, Thursday, Feb. 16.

 

Roasts can be a good time especially when they’re for a good cause.

 Good Times Favourite Brian Dawdniuk gets roasted at Good Times for the interfaith Food bank, Feb. 17 at  8 p.m. Tickets are $14. 95

For something a little different, mini-Pops Kids tour stops by the Enmax Centre, Feb. 16.  Tickets range from $34.99 to $46.66.

As usual, the weekend is fun.

 Laurie and the Guys perform a  live music show, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.

 

 Paul Kype returns to Honkers Pub to host the open mic on Feb. 18.

 Theoretically Brewing rocks on  Feb. 17 wth  Nick Bohle and Slow Water Drifting hitting the stage at 7 p.m.

Bang your head at the Slice, Feb. 17 with Calgary metal/ punk band Citizen Rage getting rowdy with Berserker, MomBod and Gepetto all performing.  Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

 

For the complete opposite to that, The Lethbridge Folk Club hosts  Canadian roots/ swing duo Over the Moon at the Lethbridge College Cave, Saturday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m.. Over the moon  play a verity of styles of country music including Western Swing, Appalachian old time and cowboy blues music  using a variety of acoustic instruments. They  have been nominated for a 2023 Canadian Folk Music Awards Group of the Year award.  Tickets are $40 non members, $35 members . Charlie Ewing opens the show with some cowboy country.

 

 Also in the country vein, the Cody hall Band play Casino Lethbridge Feb. 17 and 18.

 The Jay Bowcott play country and more at the Owl Acoustic lounge, Friday, Feb. 17.

If you like your rock with a touch of indie rock , Calgary’s  36? play the Owl Acoustic lounge, Feb. 18 with  Facecut.

 If you just want to dance,

 The Place features an all ages  LEMF fundraiser 4-8 p.m.on Sunday, Feb. 19.  DJ Fuze,  Marty Funkhauser, Phenomenorm, E3PO, Verboze, Carpel, SGT. and Phunky Le Freq will be performing. Admission is by donation  with all proceeds going the the Lethbridge Electronic music festival.

 

There is all kinds of fun happening at Casa fro Family Day, Monday, Feb. 20.  From 11 a.m - 3 p.m., there will be drawing, art, community painting d box city  happening throughout the day. There is no charge to participate.
