Broken Yolks embrace ’90s and 2000s pop punk

Edmonton skate punk trio Broken Yolks wound up an energetic night of late ’90s, 2000s style punk rock at the Slice, Saturday, Oct. 18.

I missed the Hockey Moms and Travulta, but was in time for for the Broken Yolks.

They played a spirited set of addictively catchy punk rock featuring sharp riffs,  gang vocals and   even guitar solos. They sounded like a more stripped down Sum -41 especially on “6/10.”

They played a couple brand new songs.

They were called back for an encore of a reggae tinged number I didn’t recognize.
