Fawns returned to  the Owl Acoustic Lounge stage , Friday Feb. 16 to play a show for the Canadian Mental Health Association in honour of Mercedes’ Fawn’s mother who passed away almost exactly a year ago.

 As always, they gave it everything they had, with Fawns howling and screaming.

 They played a lot of new songs produced by Owl soundman Matthew Rederburg.  They had a strong Alanis Morissette vibe  with Fawns leaving nothing but sweat on stage by the end of their loud, intense set.

 Richard Charlton added some hot guitar riffs complementing Fawns’ impassioned  vocals. Fawns added extra guitar for a few songs but  was happy to howl and writhe all over the stage for the enthusiastic audience.

 They wanted to preview the music from their new album due out soon but ended with “ Unsafe,” from  their EP from a few years ago.

 I missed Chrome Harvest’s opening set.
