LEMF and Arts Days are highlights this week

Arts Days is the big this happening this week.

 But there is a lot more.

Tuesday is open mic night with the Owl Open mic happening at 7 p.m.

 If you think you’re funny, then show it at Good Times’ comedy open mic, which begins at 8 p.m.

Friday will be off the hook.

 Get your kilt out as the Edmonton Celtic Rock band the Derina Harvey Band return to the Slice on Friday.

 Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. The fun begins at 7 p.m.

 

The Canadian Brewhouse goes modern pop on Friday with the new Testaments and a variety of special guests including Danica Sommer and DJ lRev, LRev, Chris M and Max Hopkins also performing. The show begins at around 8:30 p.m. The New Testaments play contemporary pop and R and B music. Tickets are $10 including a bottle of beer.

 

 The Owl Acoustic Lounge features the Southern Exposure Tap Takeover this weekend.

 

 Friday features music by Biloxi Parish. Mud Bog and Night Terrors.

Saturday’s line up is alt country band Liquor Mountain and Muddier Bog. Admission is by donation for both.

 

If you want to dance, the ninth annual Lethbridge Electronic music Festival (LEMF) returns to   Galt Gardens, Saturday, Sept. 25 beginning at at 11 a.m.

 Due to Covid, there will be no after party at Club Lime as originally planned due to Covid and organizers wanted to focus on the main event..

 There will be a beer garden, sanitization stations and two stages.

The Zodiac stage features features Skratch Bastid,The Gaff,Rumpus ,Carpel, Deckster, Diemetic,DJ Pez ,DJ Dopamine, Esette, MollyFi, Rabbyt, Steve Samurai and Witness Me.

 Performers on the Luminosoty stage  include Woofax,Distinct , E3p0_dnb , E-Lev-8 , ERWIN the INTERN , Hypesetterz, Koot.C , Mind of Gaia, Napache , R.Tillary, Verboze and VYYL.

 Admission is free.

 The Lethbridge Handmade Market will also be on hand.

 

 Music for Arts Days begins on Friday at Casa on Rotary Square with Makiisma and Body Lens performing from 7-9 p.m.

 Buskers will be performing downtown all day on Saturday and  ArtsDays winds up on Sunday, Sept. 26 with the Affair on the Square with Hibikaya Taiko drummers  at 11 a.m. followed by Mary-Anne McTrowe, Karen Romanchuk and JAYCY performing on Rotary Square.

 But that’s not all.

 

 The Steve Keenan Band will be rocking Casino Lethbridge blues style on Friday and Saturday beginning at 7 .m.

Country duo West of the Fort are at the Slice on Saturday, Sept. 25.

 

If you want to laugh, Matt Foster provides the yuks  on Sept. 24 and 25 for one show at 8 p.m., each night at Good Times. Faris Hytiaa is the host for the night and  Alex Carr will be opening.

 Tickets are $15.

There is also comedy on Monday night as Good Times mainstay Mike Dambra heads west to perform a free show at the Duke, The show begins at 7 p.m.

 

 For something a little different, The Lethbridge Comics Card and Collectibles show is at the Lethbridge Legion from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sept. 25. At least 21 vendors will be on hand to show their wares. Admission is three dollars.
