It’s St. Patricks Day this week. 

 And the celebrations start tonight  with the Real McKenzies annual pre- St. Patricks Day party in Lethbridge.

 They will be at the Owl acoustic Lounge with MomBod and the ant-Queens. Advance tickets are sold out . There will be a limited number of tickets at the door.

St.Patricks Day is on a Friday this year,  which is perfect. As expected numerous venues have St. Patricks Day parties planned.

  Petals, Paws and Beans  hosts a St. Patrick’s Day dinner with music by Wander West. Tickets are $55.Wander West also play a post St. Patrick’s Day Show at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens from 7-9 p.m., March 18

 The Slice has a St. Patricks’ Day burlesque Cabaret and music by the Corey Hotline. Doors open at  7 p.m. the show begins at 8 p.m., Tickets are $20 or $15 with a student ID.

 Uncovered celebrate St. Patricks Day at Pops Pub.

 

 The Brigette Yarwood band  is at the Duke for St. Patrick’s Day . But, the Lethbridge Pipes and Drums  open the evening at 5:45 p.m.

 It wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without a show from The Junkman’s Quire, who return to the Owl Acoustic lounge.


 If you want to play, There are several open mics this week.

 Braeden Rouse and Robyn Alicia host a St. Patrick’s Day jam at Honkers Pub.

 

 Honkers Pub features a special fundraiser, for young saddle bronc rider Sandy Cooper who was seriously injured with a spinal injury  on Dec. 30.

 Suite 33 will supply the soundtrack for the fundraiser which also features a raffle and silent auction. Admission is $10. It begins at 7 p.m.

 Proceeds got to  help renovate his home to make it wheelchair accessible.

 Earlier in the week, Fawns hosts the open mic at the Slice on Thursday, March 16 and Scott Davidson hosts another open mic at the Slice, March 15. There is also an open mic at Petal, Paws and Bean on Wednesday., Gabe Thine hosts a new open mic at Theoretically brewing at 6 p.m. every Thursday unless there is a Celtic jam.

 

 There is plenty of comedy this week.

 So You Think You Can Comic returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge on Wednesday, March 15.

Impromptu have a busy week planned. Drunk improv returns to Good Times, Thursday, March 16. Alex Carr returns to Good Times, March 17 and 18. His March 17 show has already sold out.

The eleventh edition of Gommorah the Improvised Soap opera returns to Didi’s Playhaus, Saturday, March 18. The latest instalment of Gommorah takes place in  Gommorah, Inc, A decade old company   given a new lease on life in Lethbridge.

 The show begins at 7 p.m. Admission is pay what you can.

 Young local songwriters have been hard a  work at Shaela Millers Lethbridge Youth Songwriting camp. A showcase of their  work is Saturday, March 18.

 Border Bound play Casino Lethbridge March 17 and 18.

Lawless Murphy Returns to the Slice, March 18.

 The The Mike Tod Band returns to the Owl Acoustic Lounge, March 18.

The Geomatic Attic has a full weekend.

 Nelson/ Edmonton based songwriter  Maddie Storvold brings her trio to the Geomatic Attic, March 18.

She is just about to release her third album “Sunstorm” and is recording a new live album later in the month. Tickets are $35 members, $37.50 non members.

 

 The Geomatic Attic gets jazzy with the Andrea Superstein trio on Sunday, March 19. Tickets are $40 members, $42.50 for non members.

 Both shows begin at 8 p.m.

 

 The end of March is going to be off the hook.

And, The annual Lethbridge And District music and Speech Arts Festival begins on Tuesday, March 20 at venues all over downtown.
