“It’s an opportunity for all of the disciples of the arts to collide on the same stage for an evening,” Lindsay Meli, Allied Arts Council communications coordinator adding there are several different acts performing including some unusual spoken word/ jazz from the Barracuda Orchestra, some flamenco guitar with Ali Golbabai plus dancing, Aboriginal Dance with Troy Emery Twigg, the University of Lethbridge Opera Workshop, improv comedy with the Drama Nutz and house band, Sludge, featuring artistic director David Mikuliak. Plus alderman and New West Theatre alumnus Jeff Carlson will be master of ceremonies.
“It’s format is like a variety show like the Ed Sullivan show with a house band. And what’s really neat is it will look like a television studio with cameras and all of the bells and whistles,” Meli continued adding there is a pretty exciting new media component to all of the performances.
“It’s very progressive and unique. It’s going to be a great evening. It’s an opportunity to see artists who don’t get a lot of chances to perform and expose the audience to the diversity and talent in our community,” she said adding tickets , which cost $35 for adults, $25 for students, are going fast.
“And it will be great to see Jeff back on stage,” she enthused.
