Whoop Up Days art contest welcomes southern Alberta artists

Whoop-Up days  is connecting with Southern Alberta’s thriving art community with the Whoop Up Days art contest.
“It’s a way for us to  connect to the local art community,”  Exhibition Park  Chief Operating Officer Mike Warkentin.

“We want to showcase local talent, ” he continued.


 Artists living in the Lethbridge and district region, anywhere south of Calgary are welcome to submit   any original artwork in a poster or canvass 18x24 inches.


 No copyrighted characters are permitted, though artists are welcome  to incorporate the Exhibition Park and Whoop Up days logo. All posters become exclusive property of  Exhibition Park and may be used  for reproduction and promotional purposes.


 Entries must  include a completed contest/consent form available  from http://whoopupdays.ca/art-contest/ and include high quality  photos of your artwork to facilitate proper judging of the submissions.


 They must include the participants signature and name and reflect the theme of Whoop Up Days and community spirit.
 First prize is the showcasing of the artist’s work as the official Whoop-Up Days Family Festival poster, that will displayed in the community and on social media.


 The winner also receives VIP passes to 2020 Whoop up Days including four general admission tickets, a parking pass and four supertickets plus more prizes to be announced.


“The contest is expanding on a program that we were already doing,” Warkentin said.


The deadline to enter is Wednesday, Aug. 26. The deadline to submit works is Oct. 31, 2020.
