Dean Selena, Aka Richard Leigh Doerksen, Daniel Enns, Daniel Puurveen are releasing their new CD ‘What is Unchanged.’
Canadian trio, Dean Selena, is not known for fitting in. Settling for contentment within tradition and expectation has been an individual struggle for Richard Leigh Doerksen, Daniel Enns and Daniel Puurveen. This ambiguity which they share appears to be the glue and force behind their music. Only formed in January 2009, Dean Selena’s existence thus far has been one of much unexpected change and swift evolution.
Their music can be heard as a journey that they have no choice but to be on. It is as if they are chasing change in order to be there when it stops. Not necessarily to know why it stops but to feel what it’s like when it does. Dean Selena’s debut album “What Is Unchanged?” addresses that imagery in a musical trip through wonder, confusion and reality.
In the beginning stages of spreading their music around the world, Dean Selena is eager to perform and explore their inspired sides.
The Old York Tavern is where Bobby Johns and the Wooden Kilt used to be.
