Karen Romanchuk is a local country/folk singer songwriter. www.myspace.com/karenromanchuk
Karen received her first guitar from her parents at the age of
six.
Learning theory from a Conservatory music teacher and taking lessons
from a variety of musicians who dared to venture out to the boonies of
flatland Milo, Alberta, she began her lifelong passion for music.
Starting out, like many before her, in the small town church choir and
moving on to opening for the likes of Colin James, Gaye Delorme, Willie
P. Bennett, Jake Mathews, Dave Gunning, House of Doc and Rob Szabo she
continued to play the club scene across the Western provinces. In
September 2009 Karen joined "Sirens of Song" for one concert where she
shared the stage with Juno award winners Lynn Miles and Melanie Doane
along with critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Catherine MacLellan.
"You deserve to be here. You are a great singer/songwriter!" Quote to
Karen from Juno award winner Lynn Miles during their live performance.
2010 has started out to be a great year as Karen has had the pleasure of
opening for Katherine Wheatley and guitar virtuoso Wendell Ferguson
which was a true treat! She then had a second appearance with Juno
award winner Lynn Miles who is one amazing singer/songwriter! Cudos
also to Karen's vocal coach, Brian Farrell, who has been such a positive
influence to her career. A respect for a variety of different musical
artists shows in her live set list, ranging from folk, roots and blues
mixed in with her original material. This is a singer/songwriter you
don't want to miss and watch for her 2nd CD coming in 2010 with surprize
guest appearances by some of the above mentioned artists! Check out

featuring Karen Romanchuk with the Constant Remnants playing an original
tune called Back Then.
