Three musicians, 10 minute songs, no lyrics, and one of the best live shows in all of Toronto. You’ve never seen or heard anything like The Isosceles Project. This is a band that truly believes in genuinely artistic and creative music, and they prove it with their stunning, genre-smashing debut EP, “Oblivion’s Candle.” Even without a singer, the album reveals concepts and themes that are communicated not through words, but through the ferocious passion and profound depth within each of the four ground-breaking compositions. Though each musician is a technical marvel on their instrument, don’t expect any cold pyrotechnics or self-indulgent wankery. Isosceles means two equal sides, and the band is inspired by balance and equality in life and in music, and this concept is demonstrated in their innovative writing style that gives the word “Progressive” new meaning. The soul-crushing riffs and intricate rhythms of Meshuggah, the beautiful extreme-to-mellow dynamics of Opeth and Russian Circles, the tripped out post-metal enormity of Isis, and even the eccentric jazz-funk fusion of the Mars Volta are just a handful of the themes that the band organically constructs into their own sound that simply defies categorization.

When Scott Tessier and Eric Euler met, they discovered they had something unique in common; the desire to play music that destroyed all that heard it.

These two expats from the frozen wilds of Northern Ontario came together with newly acquired drummer Brandon Smith in the fall of 2010 to slowly but surely conquer the hearts and minds (and eardrums) of music fans from coast to coast with their crushing display of instrumental mayhem.

Not only fans, but critics in Canada and beyond have taken note of the talent on display on their full length debut "Oblivion's Candle."

No less than the U.K.'s venerable Metal Hammer magazine chose it as album of the month in May, 2009.

Zero Tolerance said the record: "is a release that points to a band with the potential to make waves in an exclusive scene."

Influential online writer Deaf Sparrow had this to say:

" As a music lover listens to Oblivion’s Candle is difficult not to feel certain joy. Joy because the music is there, joy because it is loud, joy because it rocks, and joy because its at times exhilarating."

And Aaron Turpen of Militant Reviews offered this accolade:

" This band is the best band I've heard since I discovered Tool in the 1990s. Really."

And if the thought of 10 minute songs with no vocals comes across as a prog rock wank-fest, think again. These guys find the right groove that holds your attention and doesn't even come close to being pretentious.

The Isosceles Project is working on a new LP and about to embark on a cross-Canada tour. Rest assured, they'll be destroying venues and blowing minds from Toronto to Vancouver in their quest for Musical dominance. You don't want to miss out.

Lustre Creame www.myspace.com/lustrecreame  are a Lethbridge progressive rock trio including guitarist/vocalist Aaron Trozzo, bassist/vocalist Geoff Orriss and drummer Chris Lipinski.

We came together sometime around February 2008... We knew it was meant to be when we played a backyard party in summer later on that year, and the cops came to shut it down. Instead they stayed to listen. We work very hard at what we do and take it very seriously. We support the Lethbridge music scene thoroughly, and want it to grow and mature into something totally rad and accessible to everyone. No playing favorites, no biases. No one left behind. Our sound is pure, driven, rock and roll with a twist of math and immaturity. We love this band more than we love ourselves, and stick our necks out on the line for everything we do. You haven't heard us on the radio, and lets hope you never have to (discounting independent radio of course.) But if you do, let's hope it's the beginning of a Rock and Roll Rebellion. A change for the better. An END to shitty regurgitated generic cock rock everywhere. We are Lustre Creame. Read more: http://www.myspace.com/theisoscelesproject#ixzz0uqaqdAvr
