I guess the most important thing you need to know about me is that I love to write music and sing! This has been a passion of mine from as far back as I can remember... My family will tell you there is a certain home video of me singing the same song over and over and over again that while it may have drove them crazy at the time, I'm sure they appreciate now ;) Being that I grew up on an acreage a 1/2 hour outside of small town Edson, Alberta (although it's not so small anymore), not being able to drive yet meant I had a lot of free time on my hands. To pass the time I would often pedal over to my Uncle’s where I would sing along to his guitar. I sang songs by John Denver, Creedence, Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, and lots of other great artists! I would definitely have to accredit my love for and desire to be a country artist to these ‘in the early-days’ jam sessions... Country Roads is to this day one of my favourite songs! Although I had always been one of those annoying people who couldn’t help but sing along to the radio whenever a song came on that I knew the words to [or at least thought I knew the words to], I had never really sang in front of anyone except for a few family members. So during my first year of High School, at 15, I decided it was time to show everyone else what Tatum really sounded like. I started taking vocal lessons, and after A LOT of convincing on my friends’ part [you know who you are ;)] I got up in front of the Pacer Dome [my highschool’s version of a cafeteria] and sang Lee Ann Womack’s ‘I Hope You Dance’. That day I hated my friends for making me do it... Now I love them for never letting me quit. I quickly went from High School karaoke, to performing at a local coffee shop, to tackling provincial and even international talent competitions. The biggest being the USA World Showcase in Las Vegas! I still enter the occasional competition, but I have been spending more and more time playing at pubs in and around Edmonton, Alberta, as well as special events throughout the province. Being that I consider myself a ‘Country Girl’, it was only a matter of time before I would consider the guitar as something I couldn’t live without. I began teaching myself to play my first year in college, and just 3 months later had co-written, with my Aunt, my first song: Mr. Hollywood. One song quickly turned into three songs, then five songs and so on... I am currently working on my first Demo!! I’m extremely excited for it to be finished, and for where this next stage of my life [some would call it adulthood... I would call it learning to appreciate 10% Tuesdays at the grocery store] is going to take me... But most of all I’m excited for you guys to hear my music, and to hopefully love listening to it as much as I love making it!

The Canadian pop group was founded by Bruce Innes in Calgary, Alberta in 1966. Originally named The North Country Singers, the group began its career singing in coffee houses and pizza restaurants across Canada. In 1968, they moved to Los Angeles and changed the group name to The Original Caste. They recorded two singles for Dot Records and had limited success, but then signed with TA Records in 1969, a label distributed by Bell Records. At TA Records they met Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, who produced their first two hit singles, One Tin Soldier and Mr. Monday, and their first album., One Tin Soldier The success of these two songs (Certified Gold in Canada and Japan) enabled the group to tour extensively in The United States, Canada, and Japan. In 1971 Bell Records released Live in Japan Vol. 1, Live in Japan Vol. 2, and The Original Caste, Greatest Hits. In 1974, Back Home was released on Century II/ Capital records. The band toured off and on until 1980, when Bruce Innes moved back to the United States. Original Band personnel : Bruce Innes: guitar, vocals - now resides in Sun Valley, Idaho Dixie Lee Stone: vocals - now resides in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Bliss Mackie: guitar, vocals (1943 - 2004) All of us who knew Bliss were very sad when he passed away. He was fun to tour with, a kind person, and a good acoustic guitarist and singer. He was a gentleman on and off stage and we miss him. Graham Bruce: bass, vocals - now resides (we think) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada Peter Brown: drums - no clue where he is. Joe Cavender replaced Peter Brown on drums in 1970 - now resides in Seattle, Washington In 1972, Graham Bruce and Bliss Mackie were replaced by: Gary Carlson - now resides in Bellevue, Idaho Dennis Coats - now resides in Sandpoint, Idaho In subsequent years the band included Calgarians: Richard Harrow, GlennMundy, Julian Kerr and John Dunn . In all variations the group featured Bruce Innes and Dixie Lee Stone. Bruce continues to perform nationally with the Original Caste.

Trevor Panczak, 28, who was raised on a farm near Magrath, Alberta, Canada is the Country Showdown’s first Canadian to advance to the National Final. He is a four-time Montana State Winner (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007) & it’s a dream come true for him to be able to perform on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Besides the Showdown he has also excelled in other competitions, winning the Country Vocal Spotlight at the C.F.R. in Edmonton (2000) and the Calgary Stampede Youth Talent Showdown (1999). Trevor has been writing, singing & performing since age 14, beginning in his dad’s (Johnny Panczak) band up until his passing, as well as in his own energetic five-piece band Rough Stock. He has opened for Ian Tyson, Dan Seals, Aaron Lines, & Keith Urban. Describing his style, the “gentle giant” uses clever lyrics and laid back humor capture audiences’ hearts wherever he performs.
