Bass-heavy rock n roll that takes on the power-pop of the Buzzcocks and
Ted Leo mixed with the '70s rock of Thin Lizzy and the spirit of Motown.
"...musically capturing and pushing the sound and spirit of early
British punk and melding it with classic soul and rock..." - Beatroute
Magazine
"...the energy and fun they deliver show that Falklands are more than
happy playing some straight up punk tinged rock n' roll..." -

"...a Motown bounce provides a contrast to the rougher, indie rock
'n' roll, even punk-rock base the band seems to have..." - Banff Crag

Fire
Next Time is proud to release "Wild Rose Sorrow." Recorded in the
spring of 2010 at The Hive in Vancouver, Fire Next Time fuses the
pounding sound of folk rock with the pains of growing up and growing old
on the prairies.
Often, for FNT, home is where the heart is. The band's lyrics evoke the image of Edmonton's dreary streets, ones that always lead to a tavern, and a song. The band's roots are sown into every restless guitar chord, every solemn piano key, and every angst-filled howl.
Opening like a spaghetti Western and sounding every bit as gritty, "Stomp the Ashes" leads the album on a journey into the pain of alcoholism, heartbreak, romance, loss, murder and unfulfilled dreams.
Certain to resound lyrically, the album oozes confidence in their blend of frenzied prairie rock on tracks like "Loser Drunk" and "Broken Anchors" before plucking slowly at heartstrings in their layered ballads like "Mexican Train" and "I Follow Stars, Not Dreams III".
Fire Next Time have played over sixty shows this year alone, and will continue that trend with another tour across Canada this August. "Wild Rose Sorrows" will give you a sip of the songs of the disquieted, and leave you swirling at the bottom of the bottle.

Think of Vancouver, BC and dwell on its two most spectacular natural
features: immense North Shore mountains towering over the Pacific Ocean.
This mass of water pumps creative blood into the arteries, inlets and
tributaries of the city, and its mountains give Vancouverites their
sense of strength, history and home.
Envision the exchange, then, between a churning and rhythmic body,
lapping and pulling away at the sediment and stone: an earnest and
playful ocean couched below a massive, yet accessible rock.

Touring on their third release, New Atlantis, Plus Perfect find
themselves moving from influences like Bruce Springsteen and Elvis
Costello into uncharted waters. Evolving from a riff-laden,
power/pop-punk sound into a more spacious, watery and and sun-drenched
creature, Plus Perfect explore their sonic landscape without turning
their backs on the humble three chord charm of their predecessors. And
while croony vocals, Fender Strats, and frolicking basslines remain
fixtures for the band, the spaced out keyboard atmosphere and a
giant-yet-speculative percussion section make this four piece something
relatively hard to define.
Are they rock? Are they ocean? There's only one way to find out...
