Silk and Steel’ consists of singer/songwriter Sammy Rose, and multi-instrumentalist, Jack Hollenberg.

Recently, Sammy and Jack have taken some time off from performing to get back in the studio to record their latest CD named incognito. This new disc will feature a unique Spanish flavour with a lot of guitar tracks, and a Spanish version of their latest hit single ‘Talk to Me’. Sammy and Jack will be performing a very special CD presentation and release party for Incognito on Saturday October 18, at HB’s lounge in Lethbridge, Alberta. Not only will the new CD be officially released for sale, but it will also be your first opportunity to hear the new songs performed live.

The pair came together in the mid-80's when Sammy was recording for 'Royalty Records' in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. At that time, Sammy was looking for a 'guitar and steel player' to work in her band. Due to popularity gained from air play of her first 2 singles, Dared to Dream’, and 'Same Old Country Band', Sammy had been asked to open for a concert featuring Tanya Tucker, in Saskatchewan Canada. 


One thing led to the next, and it wasn't long until Sammy and Jack teamed up, and with their band, for the next several
years... Hit the Road!!. They burned it up between Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.


After a stint in Nashville, Sammy once more returned to join forces with Jack and once more hit the local circuit. Opportunity struck for the pair to explore possibilities in Europe, and so they did. In the 8 years spent, the team toured over a good piece of Europe, and recorded 3 self written C.D.'s. Sammy wrote, and Jack built... with his many multi tasking skills, he built a demo studio where the pair worked out of and arranged all of their songs. Before entering a large studio with other musicians to complete all 3 of Sammy’s C.D.'s.

On a personal note, during there stay in Europe, Jack popped the question and they tied the knot, wrapping it up with a honeymoon in Paris!


Upon there return to Canada, Jack has once more built a studio where Sammy has just finished recording her brand new C.D. ‘Winds of Change' released Mar18/06.


SO along with gigging regularly as the duo, ‘Silk and Steel’, Sammy and Jack are more than ever a real 'do-it-your-self' pair... Sammy along with writing, singing, entertaining, is now co-producer, associate engineer, handles the day to day business and bookings, and the photography for most of the bands promos.. (and she's a chef in between). Jack is multi-instrumentalist, arranger, co-producer, mixing engineer, build it, fix it… (and an electrician in between). And yes... they do manage to find time for sleep now and then...


They are a pair to be reckoned with, with their energy and lust for life, they say they have only just begun...
