The knockdown cancer wind up gala will be held on Saturday January 28/2012. This event will include celebrity bowling, a live and silent auction, free appetizers, drink tickets, and a wind up concert and dance featuring the group SOUP OF FLIES. Tickets for this are $25 each, and they go on sale Friday December 2/2011. Keep in mind, this is going to be a great night filled with lots of fun and entertainment, but it’s also for the great cause of cancer research.
      Lethbridge College’s LEO club has volunteered to provide a valet parking service, as well as a safe ride home program, ensuring that everyone and their vehicle will get home safely. As a result of their generosity, everybody who attends the Gala will not have to worry about finding a parking space, or how they are going to get home if they choose to enjoy a couple of cocktails.

 Knockdown Cancer month (January 1 – 31/2012) is a new fundraising campaign put on by Bowl Canada (supported by bowling centres all across the country) and is designed to be a unique, fun way to raise awareness for Cancer Research. During this month, Holiday Bowl will have pink rubber bands on all the pins, provide pink rental shoes, and have the entire staff outfitted with pink shirts in an effort to promote cancer awareness.

As well as providing donation boxes at the centre, 25 cents from every shoe rental for the entire month will be donated to Cancer Research. At the conclusion of this campaign, we will be hosting a gala event that will include bowling a couple of games (one regular game, and one game of cosmic bowling) with local celebrities, a live and silent auction, free pizza, and a dance featuring live entertainment. All proceeds raised during this event will be donated to the local Cancer Society.

 On Saturday January 28/2012 from 10:30AM to 2:30PM, Holiday Bowl will be hosting a used book, CD, and DVD sale with all proceeds being added to the Knockdown Cancer donation for cancer research. Everybody is encouraged to drop off all their old books, CD’s, and DVD’s, then come down to Holiday Bowl on January 28 and purchase different books and DVD’s for just $2 each, and CD’s for only $1.
