Karen Romanchuk http://www.reverbnation.com/karenromanchuk

Karen Romanchuk is an Alberta, Canada, folk, blues and country music singer and songwriter. Influenced by Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams, her songwriting has developed into her own unique sound. She travelled the road with a cover band..now performs her own songs with passion and her only hope is to touch someone with her music.

Karen has added some amazing credentials to her resume throughout her career including opening slots for Willie P. Bennett, Gaye Delorme, Katherine Wheatley, Wendell Ferguson (7 time CCMA guitar player of the year, who also graces her new cd "Dance"), Leeroy Stagger, The Good Lovelies (Juno award winners)and Jill Barber just to name a few.

Karen was the 4th member of Sirens of Song in a Lethbridge, Alberta show which included Juno award winners Melanie Doane, Lynn Miles and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, Catherine MacLellan.

Karen was chosen as one of only 60 people, businesses, etc. to represent Lethbridge in the visit Lethbridge campaign for 2011. She appeared in brochures, ads and billboards throughout Alberta and BC to promo the city.

Karen would also like to praise her vocal coach, Brian Farrell, who has worked with the likes of Paul Brandt and Kalan Porter. Brian has been a very positive influence to her career.

Karen is a singer/songwriter that you do not want to miss!

Here's some press and a few quotes to leave you with about Karen as a performer and thoughts about her first 2 CD's (Dance 2011 and Shine 2009)....

"You deserve to be here. You are a great singer/songwriter!" Quote to Karen from Juno award winner Lynn Miles during their live performance. (Sirens of Song Concert)

"Karen is a hidden gem" ... Mike Spencer, Geomatic Attic, Lethbridge, AB. (Jill Barber Concert, opening remarks)

"Your best work yet!"...Mark Campbell (Global Television).

"Romanchuk has a definite Lucinda Williams tinge to her world wearied voice. Her melodies are very memorable especially Blue, Blue, Heart. While dance isn't the first thing you think about when hearing Karen Romanchuk's latest CD, good music is. It is an enjoyable and upbeat listen."...Richard Amery (L.A. Beat).

"What a nice CD it is! It showcases Karen's excellent voice and strong songwriting. It's also got great production values. She deserves serious praise for this."...D'Arcy.

"A cross between Waylon Jennings, Steve Earle and Lucinda Williams. She writes strong, rich folk and roots. Her material was formed as if it were at the crossroads between Country Rock, the famous Texas Outlaw and rootsy folk scene"...Ctrl. Alt. Country, Belgium. .

Kelly Tscritter http://www.reverbnation.com/kellytschritter

Born and raised in Southern Alberta in a home no stranger to music Kelly Tschritter began her career writing and performing her own material in 2003. She was a late bloomer into music at 24 but was thrown in quickly when, while living in Beijing China from 2004 to 2006, she paired up with Emanuel and Marion Uechuwe touring and appearing on television several times in front of live studio audiences of the thousands, playing for millions. Then finally as a back-up vocalist on Emanuels debut album "Black and Red". She was happy to gain such valuable experience but longed to pursue her own original music. She moved to Germany in 2006 to live the buskers dream and there she met her husband, producer, engineer and now her bassist, Sir Touby. It was a only a short while later when she recorded her first folk EP “Hardt Sessions” in 2008 under German record label TIL2 Records.

Since her move to Germany she has been performing locally as well as for such well-famed festivals as the Freiburg "ZMF" festival, Biebergemünd: Erkberg Ruft, and the Mädchen Music Festival. She has also recently been the opening performer for Munich based pagan-folk band "FAUN" and Norwiegan all girl pop group "KATZENJAMMER".

Her music being deep and infectious she enjoys keeping the theme light often joking with her audiences and even in audiences of several hundred she manages to have an intimate dialogue with her fans on and off the stage.

Her music can easily be described as singer-songwriter. She writes sings and plays with the heart of a folk singer, incorporating styles from the 70s rock era. Yet she doesn’t believe in the barriers of genres. She often wanders into the arenas of jazz, country, rock, and contemporary yet still always going back to folk’s honest home, hammering out sweet clear vocals over her strong rhythm guitar.

Kelly has always kept her ties to Canada close playing festivals such as Mountain View Music Festival and featuring at The Duncan Garage. In 2009 she completed an extremely successful tour alongside Jessica Heine with several sold out shows.

Kelly has now returned permanently to Alberta Canada playing locally and preparing for “Prairie to Oceans” a very exciting four month tour with Jessica Heine and Sir Touby, playing acoustic venues, coffeehouses, outdoor and indoor theaters, rock clubs, and festivals across Canada. She will also be completing her long awaited self titled EP in the fall of 2010 as a lead up to her first full length album being planned for the spring of 2011. Germany has done her very well musically and culturally and she hopes that her loyal European followers will stay by her side following her return to her native Alberta.
