The Previous Tenants are three guys jamming punk and indie roock in Joel’s basement in Vancouver. You won’t know until these three gentlemen have slipped by under the cover of indie rock music and planted mysterious guitar lines, sharp rhythms and choruses sung with a mouthful of hooks into every lull of your conversation. Theirs is the sound of an old friend who has come to share wonderful stories of last summer with you again. You’ll perk up at new details and embellishments of your favourite moments. Your old friend is a dirty liar and a fake, but is more fun now in the retelling than the memory of your past together.

Do you remember the summer of Operation Makeout, dbs, The Doers, and Black Rice? The sunburn has faded into a respectable base tan to be maintained in the salon. Sometimes leaving two buttons undone below the collar and often rolling up their sleeves, Previous Tenants are putting their old friend in the boat on the lake as soon as school gets out.
