3 Piece "Classic" Indie Rock band from Lethbridge Alberta

Description
Jesse Northey was a figure skater but not just any figure skater, he was the best. And at home in Fernie, BC he was also the only boy who did such a thing.
This made him a magnet for young girls who dreamt of being lifted and twirled into a
long, healthy skating career.
That was until grade seven hit. Literally.
Jesse got beat up on a regular basis for his high-flying passion.
He knew there was only one thing he could do to turn things around, and that was
redemption... testosterone redemption.
Jesse knew he needed to get a guitar.
So off he went with his entire family, all the way to the bustling metropolis of Lethbridge, Alberta to buy his first electric. A shiny, blue, stratocaster knockoff- "Yamaha Pacifica"
But Jesse also knew, he couldn’t get by on the whiney acoustic stuff. He needed to
learn the hardest and the fastest of songs, quickly.
Metallica. The answer was as hardcore as he was.
“If I can play those songs, I can play anything,” he thought to himself.
So he practiced, and he practiced and when the time was right he began to sing.
And so it began....

PandaCorn  http://www.pandacorn.ca is the lovechild of dance floor fantasy and unabashed lyricism with a kick-drum heartbeat and rock n roll soul.

Based out of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, PandaCorn is the brilliant result of the combined creative restlessness of a country sweetheart and a ’70s-inspired guitar hero. Unicorn-clad and panda-suited, Megan Nash and Brodie Mohninger serve up harmonized sincerity on a bed of synth bass and wet guitar lines. But looking beyond the quirky stage-wear and your gyrating limbs, you will notice that there is really nothing childlike or candy-coated about PandaCorn.

Shrugging off youthful ideals and digging up questions about conventional living, Nash and Mohninger write candidly on themes of the modern-day male and female perspectives. From child rearing to forgotten friendships, PandaCorn reflects on the stresses of everyday life through a tongue-in-cheek lens, fearlessly focusing on what makes a heart heavy.

It is the dichotomy of their roots that makes Nash and Mohninger’s collaborative sound so refreshing. Abandoning the country comfort of her acoustic guitar for the foreign smoothness of synthesizer keys, Nash lays down fat synth bass while crushing the whispering indie-queen stereotype with her powerfully luscious vocals. Once the frontman of a vintage-rock band, Mohninger eases up on self-indulgent shredding to make room for an electric guitar across his lap and a microphone at his lips. It’s this musical genealogy and evolution that makes PandaCorn so effortlessly clever. Imagine Neko Case jumping into a time machine and traveling back to the ‘90s to have a basement jam with the Pixies. That’s PandaCorn.

So what do you get when you cross the fascination of a mythical beast with the realism of an endangered species?

PandaCorn.
