Hailing from the true north of Calgary, AB Canada KYOKTYS, [pronounced (kai-OCT-iss)] is a technically driven 4-piece death metal group bent on musical brutality. Formed in mid 2010, KYOKTYS has recently recorded and released their name-describing EP entitled, "A RIVER IN HELL." The band is currently working on a full-length, yet untitled album. July 2011 saw a 12 date, 3200km central Canadian tour, which only provided a willingness to expand further. KYOKTYS brings a sensory engulfing experience to the live forum with a visual element that is as loud and abrasive as the music. Ultra-low-tuned rhythms and leads backed with merciless vocals and blast beats have resulted in steady attendance increases show by show. KYOKTYS is A RIVER IN HELL!

The band name.
(Cyrus Kriticos was a ghost hunter that hunted ghosts specifically from the black zodiac to complete a machine called the “Ocularis Infernum” (Eye of Hell) that was designed by the devil and powered by the dead.)

We love playing shows. We write our own music and work very hard to perfect it. We have just finished our first demo (produced By Alex Budd) that should be released this spring.

Biography

Started out in Coaldale, a small town just outside Lethbridge, Alberta. Founded by Layne and Skruffy looking to make a creative band of friends and musicians. We work hard for our music and we hope it shows.

Keenan "Spice" Takeda was soon added on Rhythm guitar, an odd choice due to his differing taste in music but soon blended well into our musical concoction.

Dylan was the obvious choice being a close friend of Laynes who already had some musical history together.

Greg "Gory" Mayer a friend of Skruffys who he had been in bands with before was added on Vocals and made a perfect match due to his creative lyrics and chemistry with the band. He may also provide additional instruments in the future such as bass and 8 String guitar.

And So Trancide was formed and has since become a big part of our daily lives.
We have play shows wherever we can, and have been praised for the surprising complexity of our music as well as variety and soul.

Layne Writes Guitars. Skruffy Writes Bass. Vocals are written by Greg. Drums are written by Dylan. Layne and Skruffy work together on the structure and creation of our songs.

Sacred Savage is a metal band from the Kainai Nation and have been playing under this name since 2010 with this lineup. The band was known as Dr Blood for most of the 90's and early 2K's. Sacred Savage has recently been writing and recording original metal tunes that touch on the tribal icons and history of the North American First Nation and has been drawn to the darker side of sonic imagery. The band's sound is a basic primal assault and desecration of the senses riding hard towards the heaviest of metal. Sacred because of the dedication to personal discipline and hard working personas and Savage because of the deadly intent and precision of clear minded warriors armed with modern music weaponry. S.S. is inferior to no one.......
